Personal log of Alvin Seale, scientist aboard the Velero III, of its first expedition in the Pacific led by Capt. G. Allan Hancock. The expedition collected at twenty-three stations from December 3, 1931 to February 27, 1932, along the eastern coast of Mexico, and Panama, Malpelo Island, Galapagos, Cocos Island, and Nicaragua. At the time, Alvin Seale was associated with the Steinhart Aquarium, Golden Gate Park, San Francisco, specializing in fishes.
